COLUMBIA FALLS HISTORY TOUR
COLUMBIA FALLS, MT JUNE 15, 2018
Our whirlwind afternoon tour of Columbia Falls could have lasted 3 days, but we covered everything from the early timber industry, to the legacy of James Talbot, the State Soldier's Home, and the Aluminum Plant in just 3.5 hours! Thank you to Johanna Hardesty and Gail Shay Linne for guiding us through so much Columbia Falls history. At the Soldier's Home we were indebted to Ron Beard, Bill Beck, and Pat Walsh for arranging the tour, gathering history, and talking to our group. Many thanks also to Ron Buentemeier for his fascinating history of the timber industry in the area, and to Steve Wright at the Columbia Falls Aluminum Plant for presenting the history of the plant.
